Training Objectives:
On completion of this course participants will be able to:
Recognise First Aid emergencies
Understand and demonstrate essential life saving skills
Course Syllabus:
Responsibilities of First Aiders
Scene Management
Principles of treatment Patient Assessment: (Primary and Secondary Surveys)
CPR & use of an AED (Defibrillator)
CPR and AED practical
Recovery position
Blood and the circulation System
Heart Attack
Stroke
Wounds and Bleeding including the application of Dressings and Bandages
Respiratory Emergencies including choking and Asthma
Altered levels of consciousness incl fainting, seizures etc.
Shock including its recognition and treatment
Musculoskeletal Injuries: Fractures, Sprains, Strains and Dislocations
Head injuries including compression, concussion and factures
Allergic reactions including Anaphylactic shock
Burns, scalds and Bites
Poisoning, Electrocution
Course Duration
1 day or over 2 days tailored to suit your needs
Certification
All successful candidates will receive a Basic First Aid certificate valid for a period of 2 years.
