HealthCare Ireland will bring you a Basic 1/2 day Food Hygiene course which is applicable to anyone generally working in the area of food production, preparation and delivery.

Training Objectives

  • To study the risks involved with Food Handling and how to minimise these risks.

Basic Food Hygiene Training Course Overview

  • Define food poisoning, understand how it occurs and the main causes of food contamination
  • Explain the importance of correct storage, preparation, handling and cooking of food
  • List the legal responsibilities of the food worker
  • List the structural requirements of a food premises
  • Recognise a pest infestation and how to control it
  • Explain the importance of cleaning and cleaning schedules
  • Explain the purpose of HACCP

Certification

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance from HealthCare Ireland.

Refresher course is recommended every 2 years
