Phoenix Health and Safety will bring you a practical up-to-date Paediatric first aid training course for parents and carers of babies and young children. Our Training team of instructors are made of Paramedics and Paediatric nurses who are certified by the Occupational First Aid Assessment Agency and registered Occupational First Aid instructor with the Health and Safety Authority
Aim
A practical up-to-date Paediatric first aid training course to provide training for parents, carers and all who have an interest in child welfare.
Training Objectives
Describe and demonstrate Paediatric First Aid
Understand and demonstrate essential life saving skills
Identify and administer first aid to medical and Trauma emergencies
Identify risks to children in the home and workplace
Course Overview
Responsibilities of a First Aider
Accident scene management – Common home accidents / incidents, assessing the seriousness and action required
Self Protection/ Infection/ Vaccination
Scene Assessment and Safety
CPR for adults, children and Infants
AED for adults and children
How to react in an emergency situation
Child and Infant Choking and airway management
Control of Bleeding
Head Injuries and Eye Injuries
Dealing with unconscious Children and Infants
Febrile Seizures, Epilepsy, Diabetes and Asthma
Temperature management
Medical Ilness including :Meningitis, Febrile Convulsions
Chemical Burns and Poisoning
Useful Advice
Dealing with unwell children, including vomiting, diarrhoea, giving medication, accident recovery and First Aid kits

1/2 Day
Certification
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
Refresher course is recommended every 2 years
